Scott Brison’s touches on science in talk on Canadian economy

It's obviously politically minded, but it is interesting to note that that he was asked about research. This is what we need to see more of during the (ongoing?) campaign - questions from the floor about federal support for science.

Fielding questions about reductions in research funding, Brison said it’s better to spread scientists out throughout the country and connect them through telecommunications than to centralize them.

I also find his comment here interesting. What do you think of it? Do you agree?
