Gender inequality in STEM is very real for Canadian women

This is really depressing. I understand that unconscious biases are hard to fight, but I thought we would have done better by now. Still, at least this article is about the right question stemming from Dr. Hunts comments.

Despite an increase in women with STEM degrees, the percentage of women working in the fields has barely changed in almost 30 years. In 1987, 20 per cent of the STEM workforce was women. Today, it is 22 per cent.
