Ottawa to upgrade its three fisheries research centres in B.C.

I wish that things like this happened more often outside election years. I'm guessing that these institutes do not pose a threat to business anywhere.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper’s Tories announced “up to” $18 million in funding for the Centre for Aquaculture and Environmental Research in West Vancouver, the Institute of Ocean Sciences in Sidney and the Pacific Biological Station in Nanaimo.

The money, aimed at making infrastructure improvements’s was made by Fisheries Minister Gail Shea, who was accompanied by B.C. MPs John Weston and Randy Kamp, at the West Vancouver facility on Marine Drive.
