Feds and Ontario pledge $75M for CDN Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation

This is wonderful. Alzheimer's is a scary scary disease. Its like cancer in that you know what's happening to you, and you can only watch as your life is slowly taken away from you, and in that all your family can do is watch.

A great initiative. I just wish the centre didn't have to include the "I-word."

Federal Finance Minister Joe Oliver and Premier Kathleen Wynne announced Friday that their governments would provide financial support for the $123.5 million centre which will be based at Baycrest Health Sciences in Toronto.

“People are living longer, they’re living healthier lives and so it’s critically important that you confront this terrible scourge of cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s,” Oliver said, announcing a $42-million contribution from the federal government.
