Canada increases funding for share of NASA space telescope

I would have thought that ComDev's contract would have included the integration, but if it means that Canada gets a fraction more astronomy time then, okay, whatever. Still slightly annoyed though.

The new Canadian investment is intended to help Com Dev, a Canadian contractor located in Ottawa and Cambridge, to integrate the components it has built into the telescope.

Com Dev built two critical components. One is a guidance system, which will point the telescope in the right direction.

The Fine Guidance Sensor is accurate to within one millionth of a degree. That’s like being able to aim at a dime from a distance of 1,000 kilometres.
