Sylvain Laporte Named President of the Canadian Space Agency

I've lost track of the number of presidents that the CSA has gone through. I wonder if we should start a pool on how long this guy will last - presidents at CSA have the job security of someone on Game of Thrones, or a Red Shirt member of an "away team" on Star Trek.

The Prime Minister announced today that veteran public servant Sylvain Laporte has been named as President of the Canadian Space Agency. Mr. Laporte is currently the Commissioner of Patents and Registrar of Trade-marks, Canadian Intellectual Property Office, Industry Canada. He will commence his new duties on March 9th.

Mr. Laporte has a long history in public service working at Industry Canada, the Canada Post Corporation and National Defence.
