McGill University Health Centre inaugurated

Sounds like an excellent new facility - the kind in which exciting science can be done by enthusiastic and skilled scientists.

Inaugurated on Monday by Education Minister Yves Bolduc, the research institute is located next to the MUHC superhospital, and will bring together more than 500 researchers who have been working at multiple sites of the hospital network.

“This research institute will allow us to do things we couldn’t do before, allow us to accelerate discoveries,” Bertrand said, pointing to a large, cylindrical piece of equipment: a hyphenated nuclear magnetic resonance machine, which scientists will use to analyze the molecular structure of new anti-cancer drug compounds.
