Women changing the face of the nuclear industry

Women in STEM. It's not just a slogan - society needs them.

The first woman to become an authorized nuclear operator at Bruce Power – and the third to do so in Canada – is encouraging other young women to explore non-traditional career paths.

There’s one thing she said they need to do to make that possible: stick with math courses in school.

Wendy Huys, executive co-chair of Women in Nuclear (WIN) Canada, spoke to about 40 women at a “lunch and learn” event Jan. 14 in Southampton, hosted by the Canadian Federation of University Women (CFUW) Southport.
