Feds failed on Science and Technology Museum plan

The chorus of discontent is growing. And the author is right - the Science and Tech Museum has been dumped. When I travel the world I go to the prestige museums in the capitals and am always amazed by what I see. A revamped Bakery is embarrassing for a national museum.

I think it’s time the museum faced some cold, hard facts. It was kicked to the curb by the federal government this week.

When the feds announced it had no interest in finding a new home for the museum — housed in an old dairy warehouse and closed since September because of mould — it might as well have said it had no interest in the museum, period.

I find myself more and more these days wishing this government dared to dream a little larger. Especially when it comes to our national institutions, our national parks and historic sites, our history and heritage.
